AMG has revealed all the members of the Brotherhood of Mutants and oh boy are they going to shake things up.
Magneto's second attack Shrapnel Blast is an area two strength six with a power cost of five. It throws out stuns. The spicy part of this attack is that he can use a metal construct measure range.
From the Ruins is Magneto's leadership ability and reads When a terrain feature is destroyed, after the effect is resolved, choose a number of allied characters equal to or less than the terrain feature's Size. Each chosen character gains one power. A character may only gain one power as a result of this ability per turn. This is up there with Cabal and Avengers on improving power economy especially when Magneto can create interactive terrain pieces with his Master of Magnetism innate superpower.
Speaking of Master of Magnetism, During the power phase if you don't have two metal constructs place a metal construct within range three of Magneto then gain a power for each metal construct in play. These constructs are size two and can not be overlapped. This is the first time we have seen a way for terrain to be added to the table. It will be interesting to see what happens with both the ability to create terrain and then destroy it to generate power for the team.
His throw ability Fatal Attraction, the most unique throw ability it is not limited to one per turn but the power cost is equal to the size of the terrain being thrown and also each time it is used increases the cost. Force Projection is a reactive power that when being attacked or dodging Magneto can spend two power to use that massive six mystic defence and can not be pushed or thrown as a result of the special rules or a collision. Oh and flight.
Magneto is a beast, he will be the lynch pin of any squad that he is in. If you choose to take him as your leader you will want him in the centre throwing everything around handing out power to his team mates.
The Brotherhood's second option for leader is Mystique, Raven Darkholme, her leadership ability, Freedom Force, gain a power after interacting with an Extract objective but the extra spicy bit is and interact ability for secures, allowing a single token to be placed and count as you securing until an enemy character contests that objective. Hello close Gamma shelter securer. Her attacks are nothing to write home about her Pistol is range three strength four earning a power. The best bit about this attack is Rapid Fire on a hit allowing Mystique to attack the same target again. Mystique other attack Espionage cost three power, range two, strength six and stuns the target.
Mystique has four superpowers, Expert Sabotage which for an action and three power destroys a terrain feature, enemies at range one suffers two damage and can be used once per turn. Just wow, talk about a crazy power that helps with Magneto's leadership ability. The remaining powers are all innate, Stealth, Martial Artist and Shapeshifter. This last one enemy's cannot use reactive superpowers or tactics cards during Mystique activation.

Toad's attacks are nothing special, Tongue Lash Range Three strength four wild push if size two or less and gains power equal to damage dealt. This is nothing crazy good but solid for a threat two. Spit Acid is an energy attack range two, strength five costing two power and Incinerates the target.

Mystique's stats are quite average five stamina on both sides long move size two three defence across the board. Mystique seems like her leadership ability will be biggest part of her kit. Everything else seems to be average not bad but average. I don't see her in to many non Brotherhood lists but will be key member of those teams that run either Brotherhood list.

Toad is the Brotherhood's two threat character five stamina on the healthy and three on the injured side. Three defence across the board. Medium move, Size two with Wall Crawler. Toad's Prehesile Tongue allows him to interact with objective tokens at range two instead of range one. Hop is an active superpower for two power place Toad within range two of his current position. Slippery is reactive power that for two power when attacked if he is damaged Toad advances medium. Finders Keepers at the cost of an action and two power Toad can move an Asset or Civilian token from a allied character to Toad. This is the Criminal Syndicate leadership on a two threat character. This is the selling point for Toad and I would not be surprised to see Toad slip into (puns!) alot of rosters based solely off this power.

Toad is another unique two threat that will fight against all the other two threat characters in the game. If you are looking for an objective runner that will be able to move tokens, Toad is the mutant for your team.
The Brotherhood starting four characters seem like they work well together and with other teams. Spicy starting point is Mystique, Toad and Sabertooth for nine threat which leave six threat at 15 threat. So many affiliations need 10, 11 or 12 to achieve the 50%+ needed. Having two leadership abilities available to the Brotherhood allows for flexibility within a single faction that we have not seen yet. I think we will see rosters with Brotherhood plus one faction. An interesting idea will be Uncanny X-Men and the Brotherhood giving four options for Leadership abilities.
