The March of the Droids

Over the last few months, I have been messing around with CIS lists. Double the Fall, B2s or Dooku with Droidekas but when the AAT dropped I knew it was for me.
I finally settled on this list

The idea of this list is to counter clone lists, which normally lack anti armor tech. The AAT job is to be front and centre to take all of the hits while doing max damage. The loadout for the AAT is designed to get an order every turn with Linked Targeting Array and the OOM-Series Droid Pilot.

These allows AAT to co-ordinate a droid trooper to start the chain and when that is not possible one of the B1 units have a comms relay and B1 security droid. So when the AAT is not the start of the chain this B1 passes it order to tank and then it co-ordinates the B2 or restarts the chain.

General Grievous has three jobs, first is to lineback the whole army, waiting in the rear for secret mission units to try and score and take them out. The second reason is dealing with melee and fast moving unit such as Luke Skywalker, Obi Wan or Sabine. Last job is to command the army with aggressive tactics and strict orders

Aggressive tactics is so useful for the AAT giving it a once off red dice defence with surge each turn on top of armor. While droid troopers can not be suppressed they can panic so managing the amount of suppression on each unit by removing one when they have a faceup (which normally will be all of them)

Command cards are a no brainer at the moment with no choices on which ones I can take. When the T series drops Mechanized Incursion will likely replace Ambush because it is just a better version of ambush for this list but we will need to wait and see.

Battle cards are super important because with a 14 point bid I expect to get blue player *most* of the time. Deployments are all aimed to play on the short edge with major offensive, advanced positions, long march and roll out. The objectives are key positions, payload, recover the supplies and sabotage the moisture vaporators. All of the objectives are designed so the AAT can overwatch an objective that my opponent must go to while still giving me the chance to dictate the flow of the game. For the conditions the list has Supply drop (this is so much fun) rapid reinforcements (for the B2s to drop somewhere fun) Clear Conditions and Hostile Environment (because strict orders and droid troopers.)

I have played three games with variations of this list and added the armor piercing shells after coming up against a clone sabre tank and could not deal with it. I have been blue player for all the games so far so that bit is working so far. Let me know what you think of this list and what should I change with the new releases.
