“Great warrior. Wars not make one great.”
AMGs mini-stravaganza was online 18 to 20 March and a heap of spoilers were dropped for all of there games. X Wing got a new Huge ship, Armada got some reveals for upcoming ships, Marvel Crisis Protocol got a ton of announcements and reveals. Legion though got some extra spicy reveals.
Yoda, you seek Yoda. The grand master of the Jedi has had his unit card revealed but not his command cards. Yoda is very much like Papa Palpatine in the way he is designed. His two attacks are straight at worse than Palpatine being 4 red in melee and 4 black at range with Blast at 1-2. Guidance is very much like Pull the Strings but can not make an attack action. We will need a RRG entry for but as written at the moment if you have Charge, Steady or Relentless it triggers after a move action from Guidance. Hello Yoda, Anakin lists. Ataru mastery is allows Yoda to make two attack actions when he does make an attack he gains a dodge and when he defends he gains an aim this also provides deflect. All this for 200pts with access to 3 force upgrades and a command slot. I am super excited for our little green friend.
The LAAT/le Patrol Transport for both the Republic and Empire. At 120pts, 8 health, breaking at 6. The LAAT is speed two, white dice defence surging. Keywords Armor, Arsenal 2, Cover 1 Hover: Air 2, Immune Blast, Melee and Range 1 weapons and Transport 1: Closed. Upgrades are pilot, Ordnance and Comms. Twin Laser Cannons are range 1-3 with red and 3 black fixed front. Hover Air 2 means that the LAAT does not have a compulsory move like something with a the speeder keyword but can still ignore height two terrain. I am not sure what to do with the LAAT yet I like the look of it in Empire with armour piercing shells as a tank hunter but without access to the imperial hammers pilot (it is ground vehicle only) and that sweet sweet surge it might end up feeling a touch under powered.
The three field commanders that were revealed are very interesting in their design and I think reveal alot about the value of each of the tokens. Pryce gives an aim and a suppression, Shriv gives a dodge and may give a suppression (this is to activate danger sense on some units) while Fox gives a surge and removes a suppression. To me this proves what we have all thought that aims are the most valuable token while dodges are not as good. We all know surges are the least of the tokens provided here. All of these field commanders come in at 10pts and besides Fox they can go on any heavy in faction. I can't wait for ATST Pryce to be a thing once again not sure how good it will be seeing as the Hammer pilot is the same cost and having a spotter for the ATST is not a bad thing anyway. Shriv will likely find a place in Speeder Truck lists as the close in commander for whatever gets dropped off my it.
Speaking of said truck, the A-A5 Speeder truck is 75pts 8 health breaking at 6 with a white die defence surging speed 1 on the same base as the GAV tank. No weapons come as standard but it does have a hardpoint which at least with have a heavy laser which is a rainbow with crit 1 range 1-4 costing 16pts
I cannot wait for all of these releases and whatever comes after it aswell
